Izak One "Forest elf and the fern flower"

The painting is based on the construction of a dreamlike landscape where standing out in the foreground is the elf of the forest, characterised by a young woman with long blonde hair. The character is holding the fern flower "sõnajalaõis" in her hands that according to legend will bring the world's wealth and happiness to whoever finds it. The author wanted to link these legends & myths because it represents Estonians, who have a strong connection with nature, while on the other hand keeping alive the illusion of a constant "search for sõnajalaõis".

The piece was created for the festival "Mextonia" that took place in Tallinn in June 2017.
