Harjumägi

Harjumägi – Harju gate hill - Inger bastion was until the 19th century quite difficult to reach. The Komandandi street improved access to it remarkably. Since 1887 different outdoor cafés and entertainment facilities have operated from here.
Today Harjumägi offers a great view over the recently rebuilt Freedom Square, The Monument to the War of Independence was put up in 2009. The renovated Freedom Square is a popular gathering point for citizens where many different events take place.
