Nun's Tower and City Wall Platform

Today, Tallinn's City Wall is one of Europe's largest and best-preserved medieval defensive structures, forming a large part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Tallinn’s Old Town!

About 1.85 km of the city wall has survived, as well as 26 defensive towers, two intermediate gates and parts of two front gates. You can walk along a small section of the wall that connects the Nun’s, Sauna, and Golden Foot Towers, which were built in the 14th century.

The wall offers a wonderful view of the Old Town and Toompea Castle.

Step back in time and discover the secrets of Tallinn's City Wall!

This ancient wall once surrounded the entire old town. There is still a lot of it here and the wall includes many turrets than look very medieval. In excellent condition. You are in Old Europe.

Beautiful sight seeing the old town wall. Still standing strong for all these years the builders should be proud. Reminds one of the medieval times as you stroll the cobblestoned lane ways. You... Read more comments
