    Tallinn Town Hall

Tallinn Town Hall is the oldest city hall in North-Europe. In 2022, Tallinn Town Hall celebrated the 700th anniversary of its first mention in 1322. The story of the building dates back to the 13th century and it was completed, in its current form, in 1404. The magnificent Gothic arches, the unique wood carvings, tapestry, and paintings reflect the wealth and ideals of the former Hanseatic town. The works of art in the Town Hall were also an example of fair judgement for the aldermen because until the 13th-19th century the Town Hall was a courthouse. You can admire the Town Hall decorated with lights and have the best view of the Christmas market through the Town Hall's antique glass windows on Advent Sundays and on New Year's Eve.

    Free with Tallinn Card.

    NB! Open: 27.06-31.08 Mon-Sat 11-16.

Only went up the tower but the views over the square and the buildings around the square was well worth the breathless climb.
