Patkuli viewing platform

The Patkuli viewing platform is situated in one of the most ancient parts of Tallinn. The stairway leading up to the platform was constructed in 1903. There are 157 steps connecting Toompea hill to the town below, with the stairway coming out in Toompark by Snelli pond.

Beautiful views open from the Patkuli Viewing Platform to Tallinn’s well preserved medieval city wall, historic towers, and the old Hanseatic town. The platform highlights the unique historical urban space and rich cultural heritage for which Tallinn’s Old Town is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The view combines centuries of history, architecture, and one of Tallinn’s most iconic skylines.

Firstly the climb is pretty easy. I'm 64, have a bit of a gut, and had no problem. The viewing platform is on Toompea Hill just above the Old Town. The views are spectacular.

We climbed Toompea hill anticipating the possibility of a nice view. The Pathouli panorama exceeds our expectations. It is the part of the Tallin walking tour that should not be missed.

  • Lovely views of the Old Town. Easy climb.

Located on Toompea Hill in the Old Town, the Patkuli Viewing Platform offers sweeping panoramic views across Tallinn. The climb is straightforward, though appropriate footwear is advisable.
