The city’s newest beach is located on Paljassaare peninsula, near the Katariina Pier. It sits in a former military-industrial zone and still has the ramshackle buildings and poor roads to prove it, but ongoing redevelopment has already yielded visible results. Here the water gets deep fairly quickly, and huge waves coming from passing ships break on shore, providing an extra source of fun for  swimmers.

The beach has been awarded The Blue Flag eco-label which means that in addition to clean water and necessary communications, the beach also provides environmentally friendly and educational activities.
