Pirita kloostri varemed
Pirita jõe kaldal kõrguvate varemete ajalugu ulatub aastasse 1407, mil siinmail asutati Vana-Liivimaa suurim nunnaklooster. Klooster, mis sai oma nime Rootsis emakloostri asutanud Püha Birgitta järgi, säilis oma algsel kujul 1577. aastani, mil Ivan Julma väed selle hävitasid.
Mitmeid mahukaid väljakaevamis- ja konserveerimistöid keskaegse kloostri alal tehti eelmise sajandi lõpul. Peahoone massiivne fassaad, seinad, keldrid ning surnuaed on hästi säilinud tänapäevani ning pakuvad võimast elamust.

Well worth your time and 2 Euros.
