Antonio Vivaldi ''Jumalik ja maine'' / Антонио Вивальди ''Божественное и земное''

Programme “Antonio Vivaldi. The Divine and the Earthly” (Part 2)

The performance by the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra conducted by maestro Lev Dunaev in the Estonia Concert Hall in Tallinn and in the Great Guild Hall in Riga last December was truly ground-breaking. The audience gave a standing ovation and repeatedly encored the admirable orchestra, the conductor and the soloists of the programme “Antonio Vivaldi. The Divine and the Earthly”.
This time, the orchestra has prepared a new musical gift for listeners: the continuation of the already beloved programme of the masterpieces of baroque music by the great Venetian master Antonio Vivaldi.
The audience will again have the chance to hear the inimitable voice of Yekaterina Shimanovich, the leading soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre, in arias from operas and the sacred cantata Gloria.
Concertos for solo string instruments and orchestra from the cycle L'Estro Armonico (The Harmonic Inspiration) will be performed.
The highlight of the programme will be concertos for the piccolo flute, as well as for the oboe and orchestra performed by famous St. Petersburg soloists.
For many people, Antonio Vivaldi is associated with his immortal Four Seasons.
That is why the orchestra has included two fragments from this cycle – Summer and Winter – in the concert programme to observe the established tradition and to meet the popular demand of numerous listeners. The bright images of the change of seasons can be seen particularly vividly and colourfully in these parts.
The concert will traditionally be accompanied by exquisite visuals helping the listeners to immerse themselves even deeper into the world of the divine and the earthly of the eternal masterpieces by Antonio Vivaldi.
The creatively different rendition of the programme “Antonio Vivaldi. The Divine and the Earthly” by the orchestra is an opportunity to encounter once again the familiar melodies and experience the power of emotions and feelings that come to us through the ages.
The programme will be of interest to a wide audience and has no age restrictions.
