Add to Favourites Your favourite!

The comprehensive Russian-language walking tour of Tallinn entails a walk in the  upper and lower parts of the charming Old Town.

In the Upper Town you will see the Toompea Castle - the residence of the kings’ deputies, the Komtur of the Teutonic Order, the governors of Estland, the parliament of the Estonian Republic. You will also see the gothic Dome Church, which is one of the oldest churches of Tallinn, the Russian Orthodox Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, two viewing platforms, where you will experience a magnificent panorama over the Old Town and the most beautiful private residences of the nobles.

From the Upper Town you will go down the hill to the Danish King’s Garden - one of the most romantic places in Tallinn and by Lühike Jalg Str. (Short Leg) into the Lower Town to St. Nikolas Church (Niguliste). Further the route passes Rataskaevu Str. (the Wheel Well) to the Town Hall Square. On the Town Hall Square you will hear the stories about our medieval Town Hall, the square, the Town Council Pharmacy, the oldest in Europe, and along the shortest street of our city: Saiakang (Bread Roll Passage) you will pass to the Holy Spirit Church and the Great Guild building. Further the route goes to Vene Street (Russian), where you will see the oldest Orthodox church of Estonia established by Yaroslav the Wise and the only Catholic church in the Old Town of St. Apostles Peter and Paul as well as the ruins of the Dominican Monastery with the Church of St. Catherine of Alexandria, the biggest in the city in the Middle Ages. Further proceed by St. Catherine's passage to the fortification walls, and the excursion finishes at the Viru gates.
