Grenka is a hidden gem in plain sight. The restaurant-café is located by one of the busiest streets in Tallinn and not at all in a touristic area. It is still worth the visit, just ride the few extra stops with the tram and you’re standing opposite one of the best breakfast spots in Tallinn.

Grenka offers pancakes, eggs, bacon, porridge, and grenkas in a lovely, cosy and friendly atmosphere. Local’s favourite, Grenka, can get quite busy in the mornings, especially on the weekends, so be prepared to wait a bit or book a table in advance.

The warm croissants, eggs Benedict, fresh salads, oatmeal with berries, pancakes, and cakes make your mouth water and wish every meal could be breakfast in Rukis.

Finding this amazing café is not difficult. Once at the flower market go through the Viru gate into the Old Town take a few more steps, look right and you’re there.


Ooh, Røst is one of our favourite bakeries in the world. Røst is located in the center of Tallinn, in Rotermann Quarter, Stalker’s Path, to be exact. Walking down the path just follow the smell of fresh baked cinnamon and cardamom rolls.

Scandinavian-style pastries and fresh specialty coffee is a simple and efficient way to start the morning. If you are looking for something bigger to fill your tummy with, try the sandwiches, croissants, écleirs and pastel de natas.
